AberNecessities, who supports underprivileged families in Aberdeen, has raised £10 000 and provided over 55 local children with brand new beds along with duvets, new pyjamas, teddy bears and hot water bottles.
Their appeal, “No child should go without sweet dreams”, was launched on the 18th of September and has been supported by N Sainsburry & Sons who provided beds and mattresses for the charity at cost price and delivered them for free.
This was their biggest fundraising target to date but, after observing an increase in children sleeping on broken beds or even on the floor, they decided that it was time to make a change.
The organisation says they will be “forever thankful” for the generosity that the community has shown them.
